Beer Cheese Burger


What You Need

  • <For Beer Cheese>
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ bottle beer
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded
  • ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon hot sauce
  • <For Burger>
  • Pretzel buns
  • Hamburger patties, grilled
  • Crispy onions


  1. For Beer Cheese - Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour until a smooth paste forms.
  3. Pour in beer, whisking constantly.
  4. Add cheese, a little at a time, whisking until a smooth sauce forms.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in mustard and hot sauce.
  6. For Burgers - Place grilled burger patty on pretzel bun. Top with beer cheese and crispy onions. Enjoy!
