Meatball Sub


Easy to make sub

What You Need

  • 2 jars (24 oz.) Classico® Family Favorites Traditional Pasta Sauce
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • ¼ cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsps. water
  • ¾ cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • Salt and pepper, a pinch each
  • 6 sub rolls
  • 12 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix, by hand, the ground beef, water, bread crumbs, garlic, onion, egg and salt & pepper. Shape into 18 meatballs and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, heat the sauce over medium heat on the stovetop. Add the meatballs and cook until heated through, stirring occasionally.
  4. Spoon 3 meatballs and sauce onto each roll and top with 2 cheese slices. Bake an additional 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
