Grilled Chicago-Style Hot Dogs


Fire up the grill and bring the windy city home by re-creating Chicago's classic hot dog that's the perfect pairing of taste, texture and color. The top-sliced bun ensures that toppings and the dog stay in place so you get a whole lot of flavor in each and every bite!

What You Need

  • 4 hot dogs
  • 4 Pepperidge Farm® Hot Dog Buns – Top Sliced
  • 4 dill pickle spears
  • 1 medium tomato, cut into 8 wedges
  • 1/4 cup chopped Vidalia onion or other sweet onion
  • 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 4 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 4 drained jarred sport peppers or pepperoncini peppers
  • 1/8 teaspoon celery salt


  1. Lightly oil the grill rack and heat the grill to medium.
  2. Grill the hot dogs for 10 minutes or until hot. Place the hot dogs into the buns.
  3. Place 1 pickle spear on one side and 2 tomato wedges on the other side of each hot dog in the bun.
  4. Top each hot dog with 1 tablespoon onion, 1 tablespoon relish, 1 teaspoon mustard and 1 sport pepper. Sprinkle with the celery salt.
