Barbecued Shrimp Kabobs

Summary

Marinating in a tangy barbecue sauce brings something special to this simple shrimp dish.

What You Need

  • 1 cup Heinz® Tomato Ketchup
  • 3 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1 lb. raw shrimp 16-20 count, shelled and deveined

Instructions

  1. Combine first 7 ingredients. In two small dishes, divide sauce into equal parts.
  2. Thread shrimp on thin skewers. Pour one half of the sauce over skewers and refrigerate 30 minutes, turning skewers once during refrigeration.
  3. Grill shrimp 3-5 minutes, turning once, until cooked through. Use the remaining sauce for dipping.
  4. Tip: If using bamboo skewers, to prevent burning, soak in water 10 minutes before threading the shrimp.
